BUFFY BEAUDOIN-SCHWARTZ

Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz is a philanthropic leader whose professional career, volunteer efforts, and activism have been focused on human rights, women’s issues, the nonprofit sector, and social change through philanthropy.

Buffy is a recognized national leader on Women’s Giving Circles, is a co-author of the award-winning book Women & Philanthropy: Boldly Shaping a Better World, and the author of dozens of published articles on women’s giving.

She has served on many Boards of Directors including Sobar, Our Maryland, the Community Foundation of Howard County, Hope Works, the Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County, and the Friends & Foundation of Howard County Library System. Buffy is involved in many efforts including political campaigns, the PTA, and gun violence prevention. She has a BA in Russian History from the University of Maryland and has lived in Howard County for over 25 years. She and her husband Howard have four children ranging in age from 25 – 11.
